Our Confirmation Students are seeking Spiritual Mentors who will pray and encourage them! One of the key experiences that encourages faith development in our students is having more supportive adults in their lives. Many studies suggest that each student should have five Christian adults who are investing in them beyond their parents.

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works
—Hebrews 10:24

This isn’t another program! We are hoping to intentionally create space within the confirmation program to build relationships between our youth and trusted, supporting adults. You don’t need to be able to recite the Catechism. You are not being asked to teach. You’re simply being asked to be present, and this usually shows up in small ways.

Some of those small ways can include seeking your student out at church to say hi. It can be checking in with your student and their family for prayer requests, milestone happenings (big game?), etc. Other ideas include giving birthday or encouragement cards, writing a note, or giving a small gift (think favorite candy bar or snack).

To help with connecting our mentors and students, each mentor will receive a fun Mentor-Mentee Keepsake Card (similar to a baseball card) for their confirmand, containing key stats, including their birthday, parents’ contact information, and fun details about their interests (e.g., their favorite subject, sport, or snack). We would also like to create fun cards for our mentors to keep, too!

Join Confirmation Orientation and take photos with us for the Keepsake Cards. (Just for the first 15-20 min so we can introduce & thank you.)
Their schedule of teaching times is posted on our confirmation page. These are great times to drop in to say hi. They typically begin their classes with lunch and fellowship.
If your confirmand is completing their final year, we’ll let you know when their interview is scheduled. You can pray for them, send a word of encouragement, or even attend if you like.
