One of the key experiences that encourages faith development in our students is having more supportive adults in their lives. Many studies suggest that each student should have five Christian adults who are investing in them beyond their parents.
Our Confirmation Students are seeking Spiritual Mentors! Each mentor will receive a fun Confirmation Card (similar to a baseball card) for their confirmand, containing key information, including their birthday, parents’ contact information, and fun details about their interests (e.g., their favorite subject, sport, or snack).
Mentors are expected to pray for their confirmand, and encourage them through various ways throughout the year – some examples include:
- Intentionally seek them out on Sunday mornings to say hi
- Check in with their confirmand about life and happenings – celebrate & encourage them along the way
- Bring small gifts – like their favorite snack – on confirmation class days (see teaching times above)
- Give them a birthday card on their birthday

These are just examples from past mentors. Pray for guidance and use the gifts God has given you to encourage your student in your own way.
Confirmands will also receive a “baseball card” for their mentors! Our heart’s desire is to encourage both sides of this mentor-mentee relationship and to see all sides grow in their faith.
