You are invited to join this exceptional team of high-impact volunteers at any time. You don’t need a theology degree or years of teaching experience. You only need a willing heart, a love for Jesus, and a desire to invest in the next generation. As Paul encouraged the early church, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 11:1.
What are the roles on the team?
Planning Team
Discuss with Nathan the priorities of the youth ministry and help plan events, calendar items, and other necessary plans to best serve our families and students.
Teacher
Utilize a curriculum and/or lesson plans to teach Sunday morning Bible study to Jr. High or High School students. This is a 5-6 week commitment at a time.
Nathan is open to your input! Perhaps you have some topics that you’d especially like us to cover, or you have a topic that you’re particularly passionate about and would like to teach.
We also have opportunities to lead small group discussions on Wednesdays with our students.
Mentor
Adults who love students and love Jesus, and who can commit some time investing relationally, caring for students, checking in with them, and praying for them. We are specifically seeking Spiritual Mentors for our confirmation students, but we welcome mentors for any of our students.
Expectations are to contact the student/family once a week or every other week to check in with the student. Take the time to get to know the student and their interests, and recognize special celebrations and activities happening in their life.
Otherwise, seek them out on a Sunday morning to greet them and check in with them when you see them.
Confirmation Helper
For those interested in helping more with confirmation, you can serve as a mentor (as described above) or assist Nathan as a class mom/dad, checking in with students and ensuring they stay on task, helping them to avoid falling behind.
