The “Lite House” was a wooden shed built by the Trustees behind the old Sunday School rooms, connecting the original church building (then used for Sunday School and nursery) with the old parish hall. It stored yard equipment, tools, and miscellaneous supplies, with a footprint similar to the shed Pastor Newman later built at the old parsonage — though not as tall.
Its large sliding door opened to what was then a parking lot—now part of the preschool building. The Trustees, who maintained the church grounds, held regular Saturday workdays. The trustees also enjoyed a few beers together before our church grounds “went dry” during Pastor Newman’s tenure.
The name “Lite House” was etched into the concrete at the entrance for posterity. It remained in use for years until it was eventually torn down during a later building expansion.
