Mites

The Memorial Women in Mission collects mites year-round for the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) mission grant funding. Once per month, we have Mite Box Day at Memorial! On the first Sunday of the month, after worship service, a table or volunteer with the “giant Mite box” will be available to receive your loose change. Every penny makes a big difference!

Based on the Biblical account of the widow’s mite (Luke 21:1–4), the Mite Box is intended for regular contributions of “mites” — offerings above and beyond the support given to congregations and the LCMS. Mite Box contributions amount to millions of dollars that fund district and national mission grants and implement the LWML program.

Mites in Action

Your spare change is making a BIG impact! Several Mission Grants are fully funded! Find out more on the lwmltxdist.org website.

We have plenty of small Mite boxes available to keep in your home to collect spare pocket change throughout the week. Child-themed Mite boxes are also available as fun, missional piggy banks for your children. If you have any questions, please contact any of the wonderful Women in Mission at Memorial.

As Lutheran Women in Mission, we joyfully proclaim Christ, support missions, and equip women to honor God by serving others. Thank you for partnering with us in this endeavor!
