Keeping Cool

In ancient Babylon, where the people of God lived before they came back to restore the temple in Jerusalem, they kept cool by using a combination of architectural designs and lifestyle choices.

Thick mud-brick walls and small windows minimized heat exposure, while courtyards and rooftop terraces provided cooler spaces.

People also engaged in siestas and adopted clothing that balanced airflow with insulation.

Fortunately, we have air conditioning—as long as we keep them running and working!

Although the idea of siestas is appealing!
