LAF: Sam Houston, Bringing History to Life

Please join us for our next LAF, Thursday, May 21, 11:30 in the Fellowship Hall.

We have a special program planned featuring guest speaker Scott Griffin. He will present the history of Sam Houston, bringing the past to life through his experience as a re-enactor, during which he portrayed Sam Houston in the 3-hour documentary Sam Houston: American Statesman, Soldier and Pioneer.

Scott has taught Texas History at both Taylor High School and Katy Junior High, and he brings a wealth of knowledge and engaging storytelling to his presentations. He has gained a lot of experience participating in the Katy Area historical re-enactment group, Cane Island Volunteers. We look forward to learning many fascinating facts about Sam Houston and his significance in Texas history.

Special thanks to Marilyn and Tim Gandre for asking their friend, Scott Griffin, to present this!

We are ordering Midway BBQ brisket sandwiches. We will also provide potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, and dessert. All this for $12.00. You can sign up and pay online or on May 10 or 17, after church. Also, feel free to bring your own sandwich if you choose.

Join us for an informative and engaging program you won’t want to miss!
