Convalescent Plasma Donors Needed
This blood drive is going to be a little different because we are requesting those who have tested positive for COVID (and have recovered and remained symptom-free for at least 14 days prior to May 4) to consider donating Convalescent Plasma. Plasma from donors who have acquired COVID antibodies is being used to treat the most critically ill patients battling COVID in ICU’s across the nation.
As always, we will continue to request whole blood donations as well. Blood of all types is needed, and site closures and canceled events nationwide have led to national blood shortages - 200 units short in our area! Patients continue to rely on blood donations for many accidents, surgeries, and health conditions like hypogammaglobulinemia which is what this young girl relies on donations to live sufferers from. Donating blood remains safe, and there is no substitute!
Sign up here to reserve your spot - appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome.
All appointments will be made for whole blood. If you wish to donate convalescent plasma, we will verify your eligibility in the screening booth. You will need to bring a positive COVID test result (either printed or electronically on your phone). The Blood Center is requiring that donors wear a mask or face covering when at a blood drive. In the case that you do not have one, staff will offer you one. The safety of donors and staff is important to us. Your support in this matter is greatly appreciated.
*While supplies last. Promotion items may be substituted for items of equal value.
SCHEDULE YOUR DONATION
Did You Know? Our CFL Express Pass allows you to fill out your health history before you even arrive for your appointment, which means you can spend less time in a screening room. All you will have to do is show our staff the barcode you receive. The CFL Express Pass can be completed through your Digital Donor account on a browser or through our app.
Note: The questions must be answered on the same calendar day as your appointment.
We look forward to saving lives with you, and "May the 4th Be With You."
