Communities on Mission Together
Extending the community of Christ in Katy and beyond, Memorial launches, supports and gathers in missional communities of believers pursuing passionate spirituality, living in radical community and engaging a neighborhood or people group with missional zeal.
If you are interested in learning more, committing to an ACTS community, or have a vision for starting your own and reaching a neighborhood or group of people, check out existing ACTS Communities below or contact our Director of Discipleship, Nathan Engman.
Current ACTS Communities
La Familia (“the family,” in Spanish) is a missional community led by Pastor Dimas Jimenez, which encompasses not only Katy, but all they way from Spring Branch down to El Campo and Wharton! They are seeking to grow deep in their relationships with God and one another, and reach the lost in Katy. Lately, Pastor Dimas has been ministering via WhatsApp, video calls, Facebook, YouTube and small in-person worship groups. He mentioned that even people in Panama are joining him as they gather online for Bible studies in small groups. With God’s blessings through his faithful servants, the Great Commission is being carried out!
The Comfort Dog Ministry is a missional community led by Stacy Bretting, Carolyn Meyer, Brenda Davis, & Nathan Engman. The comfort dog serves as a bridge between the person being served and the people of God. It is our hope to provide comfort, peace, and prayer to many people who are in our community's hospitals, schools, nursing homes, and other service organizations. Beyond this we hope to be able to respond to crisis situations in our community and beyond.
