Communities on Mission Together
Extending the community of Christ in Katy and beyond, Memorial launches, supports and gathers in missional communities of believers pursuing passionate spirituality, living in radical community and engaging a neighborhood or people group with missional zeal.
If you are interested in learning more, committing to an ACTS community, or have a vision for starting your own and reaching a neighborhood or group of people, check out existing ACTS Communities below or contact our Director of Discipleship, Nathan Engman.
Current ACTS Communities
HYP stands for Helping Young Parents and is lead by April Ramsey and Nathan Engman. We work with the PEP programs at various Katy High Schools and Jr. Highs to help teen parents learn life skills. Currently we offer monthly cooking classes where these young parents can learn how to cook quality, healthy, and affordable meals for their family.
La Familia (“the family,” in Spanish) is a missional community led by Pastor Dimas Jimenez and other leaders from our Hispanic service. They've been meeting for a few years now, seeking to grow deep in their relationships with God and one another, and reach the lost in Katy.
The Comfort Dog Ministry is a missional community led by Stacy Bretting, Carolyn Meyer, Brenda Davis, & Nathan Engman. The comfort dog serves as a bridge between the person being served and the people of God. It is our hope to provide comfort, peace, and prayer to many people who are in our community's hospitals, schools, nursing homes, and other service organizations. Beyond this we hope to be able to respond to crisis situations in our community and beyond.
